Our Lady of Mount Carmel Novena
The Servant's Yes
Day 3 of 9 · 5 min
- 01
Sign of the Cross
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
- 02
Opening
O most beautiful Flower of Mount Carmel, fruitful vine, splendor of heaven, Blessed Mother of the Son of God, you clothe your children in your holy scapular as a sign of your protection. As I begin these days of prayer, wrap me in your care and bind me to your Son. Help me to wear your habit not only on my shoulders but in my heart, living as one who belongs to you. Our Lady of Mount Carmel, pray for us. Amen.
- 03
Your Intention
Let us pause in silence, and bring to mind the intention you are praying for.
In the app, your own saved intention rests here during the silence. The narration stays the same for everyone.
- 04
Scripture
Luke 1:38Mary said, 'Behold, the servant of the Lord; let it be done to me according to your word.' Then the angel departed from her.
- 05
Reflection
The Carmelite way is to belong entirely to God, as Mary did when she called herself his servant. Consecration to her is simply joining our small yes to hers. To wear her scapular is to say, with our whole life, let it be done to me according to your word.
- 06
Prayer
Our Lady of Mount Carmel, you gave yourself wholly to God without holding anything back. Teach me to belong to him as you do. Let my consecration to you be real, so that all I am and have is placed, through your hands, in the service of your Son. Amen.
- 07
Our Father
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
- 08
Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
- 09
Glory Be
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
- 10
Memorare
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly to you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy hear and answer me. Amen.
- 11
Closing
Our Lady of Mount Carmel, you clothe and protect all who consecrate themselves to you. Take the intention I have carried through these days and present it to your Son. Keep me faithful to the end, wrapped in your protection in life and in death, and bring me at last to the mountain of heaven where you reign. Help also the holy souls who await that day. Our Lady of Mount Carmel, pray for us. Amen.
