Come and Find Rest

Day 5 of 9 · 5 min

  1. 01

    Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

  2. 02

    Opening

Our Lady of Lourdes, Health of the Sick, you appeared to a poor child in a grotto and opened a spring of healing for the world. You told her your name: I am the Immaculate Conception. With the same trust that Bernadette had, I come to you now in my need of body and of soul. Wash me in the grace that flows from you, and lead me to your Son, the source of all healing. Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us. Amen.

  3. 03

    Your Intention

Let us pause in silence, and bring to mind the intention you are praying for.

In the app, your own saved intention rests here during the silence. The narration stays the same for everyone.

  4. 04

    Scripture

    Matthew 11:28-30

'Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.'

  5. 05

    Reflection

Long illness is exhausting, body and soul. Jesus does not promise that the weight will vanish, but that he will carry it with us, and that in him the burden grows lighter. Our Lady leads the weary to this gentle and humble heart, where rest is found.

  6. 06

    Prayer

Our Lady of Lourdes, I am worn down and weary. Lead me to your Son, who is gentle and humble of heart, and let me find rest in him. Take the part of my burden I cannot carry, and teach me to lean on his strength. Amen.

  7. 07

    Our Father

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

  8. 08

    Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

  9. 09

    Glory Be

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

  10. 10

    Memorare

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly to you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

  11. 11

    Closing

Our Lady of Lourdes, Health of the Sick, you have heard the prayers of countless suffering souls at your grotto. Hear mine as well. Take the intention I have carried through these days and bring it to your Son, who alone gives true healing. If it is his will, restore what is broken in my body; and whatever he allows, heal my soul and keep me faithful. Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us. Amen.

  12. 12

    Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
