Divine Mercy Novena

4

White as Snow

Day 4 of 9 · 4 min

  1. 01

    Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

  2. 02

    Opening

Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of your dearly beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world. For the sake of his sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world. Most merciful Jesus, I trust in you.

  3. 03

    Your Intention

Let us pause in silence, and bring to mind the intention you are praying for.

In the app, your own saved intention rests here during the silence. The narration stays the same for everyone.

  4. 04

    Scripture

    Isaiah 1:18

Come now, and let's reason together,' says the Lord: 'Though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

  5. 05

    Reflection

God's mercy does not simply hide what we have done; it makes us new. The stain that seems permanent to us, the thing we are sure we will carry forever, he can wash until it is white as snow. Confession is not God reluctantly overlooking us; it is God delighting to make us clean.

  6. 06

    Prayer

Lord, you invite me to reason with you, not to argue my innocence but to receive your forgiveness. Take the sins I am most ashamed of, the ones I think are too scarlet, and make them white as snow. Cleanse me so completely that I can begin again unburdened, and lead me back whenever I fall. Amen.

  7. 07

    Our Father

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

  8. 08

    Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

  9. 09

    Glory Be

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

  10. 10

    Closing

For the sake of his sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world. Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world. Jesus, King of Mercy, I trust in you. Amen.

  11. 11

    Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
