The Ocean of Mercy
Day 1 of 9 · 4 min
- 01
Sign of the Cross
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
- 02
Opening
Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of your dearly beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world. For the sake of his sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world. Most merciful Jesus, I trust in you.
- 03
Your Intention
Let us pause in silence, and bring to mind the intention you are praying for.
In the app, your own saved intention rests here during the silence. The narration stays the same for everyone.
- 04
Scripture
John 3:16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only born Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
- 05
Reflection
Before you bring God your sins, bring him your trust. His mercy is not a narrow stream that runs dry when you draw from it too often; it is an ocean, and the deeper your need, the more of him you can receive. Today, do not measure his love by your worthiness. Measure it by the Cross, where it was poured out without limit.
- 06
Prayer
Most merciful Jesus, on this first day I come to you with empty hands. I will not hide my poverty from you, for it is exactly what your mercy was made for. Draw me into the ocean of your love, and let me trust that there is more grace in your Heart than there is sin in mine. Jesus, I trust in you. Amen.
- 07
Our Father
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
- 08
Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
- 09
Glory Be
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
- 10
Closing
For the sake of his sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world. Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world. Jesus, King of Mercy, I trust in you. Amen.
