A Kingdom Not From Here

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, you conquer sin by self-giving love and draw all creation toward the Father's peace. Rule my heart during these nine days, receive the intention I bring, and make my life a faithful sign of your kingdom. Teach me to prefer your truth over every lesser loyalty. Amen.

Jesus answered, 'My Kingdom is not of this world. If my Kingdom were of this world, then my servants would fight, that I wouldn't be delivered to the Jews. But now my Kingdom is not from here.'

Christ's kingdom is present in this world but does not arise from its violence, propaganda, or hunger for control. No party, nation, or leader can be identified with the fullness of his reign. Christians serve public life best when loyalty to Jesus purifies every lesser allegiance. His subjects reject coercion and learn the costly patience of witness.

Jesus, King of peace, free me from making an idol of power, nation, or faction. Form my civic choices by truth, the common good, protection of the vulnerable, and love even for opponents. Keep my conscience formed by the Gospel rather than fear or tribal loyalty. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Jesus, my King and Savior, bring my intention into the wisdom of your Sacred Heart. Reign in my mind, will, relationships, work, and community, until all creation shares the freedom and peace of your everlasting kingdom. Make me ready to serve wherever your authority sends me. Amen.
