¹⁴For this cause, I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

¹⁵from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named,

¹⁶that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, that you may be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inner person,

¹⁷that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, to the end that you, being rooted and grounded in love,

¹⁸may be strengthened to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and height and depth,

¹⁹and to know Christ's love which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

²⁰Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,

²¹to him be the glory in the assembly and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

¹Rejoice in the LORD, you righteous! Praise is fitting for the upright.

²Give thanks to the LORD with the lyre. Sing praises to him with the harp of ten strings.

⁴For the LORD's word is right. All his work is done in faithfulness.

⁵He loves righteousness and justice. The earth is full of the loving kindness of the LORD.

¹¹The counsel of the LORD stands fast forever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.

¹²Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people whom he has chosen for his own inheritance.

¹⁸Behold, the LORD's eye is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his loving kindness,

¹⁹to deliver their soul from death, to keep them alive in famine.

⁴⁹"I came to throw fire on the earth. I wish it were already kindled.

⁵⁰But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how distressed I am until it is accomplished!

⁵¹Do you think that I have come to give peace on the earth? I tell you, no, but rather division.

⁵²For from now on, there will be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.

⁵³They will be divided, father against son, and son against father; mother against daughter, and daughter against her mother; mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law, and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law."
